Dr. Cheryl’s Background
Cheryl is the founder, owner and President of Cheryl Matschek, PhD, LLC, Soaring Horizons®, and Princess Publishing. She has addressed thousands of people throughout the world since beginning her professional speaking and training career in 1979.
Cheryl holds a Ph.D. in Natural Health Sciences, Clinical Nutrition and Iridology; a Master’s in Herbology; a Master’s degree in Behavioral Science; and a Bachelor’s in Psychology. She is a member of the National Speakers Association and the International Speakers Association, and Past President of IIPA (International Iridology Practitioners Association) and Board member for ten years, as well as a member of other business related associations. She has served on Boards of Directors for many organizations over the years.
Cheryl has a strong track record in sales and sales management, dating back to 1973 when she entered a predominantly male industry as a life insurance agent with the New York Life Insurance Company. Within the first year at the age of 25 she qualified for the Million Dollar Roundtable of the National Association of Life Underwriters, and the Women’s Leaders Roundtable. In 1976 she became one of five women in sales management in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico for the same company. Prior to entering sales and then sales management. Cheryl’s diverse background began when she was very young, and included several years in the medical, dental, law enforcement, legal and grocery wholesale fields.
Cheryl’s interest and study in natural health and nutrition dates back to the early 1970s. In the mid-1990s, in addition to her speaking career, Cheryl developed a natural health practice that she continues today. As a result of her strong business background, she has consulted with and trained many professional practitioners and their staffs for greater effectiveness and productivity.
Although the demands of a speaking career and natural health practice are many, balance in life is important to Cheryl. She and her husband, J. Norman Matschek, DMD (a retired cosmetic and family dentist), enjoy their time together growing spiritually, and actively participating in their church, as well as traveling, reading, gardening, golfing, and relaxing—to remain spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically fit. They also enjoy their canine companions Holly Noelle (a black miniature schnauzer) and Sunshine (a black and silver miniature schnauzer) who go with them everywhere they possibly can!
